Description
In April I was sent a photograph from a friend which literally slapped me in the face with its beauty. Gorgeous gorgeous Guineas in a sky that could sum up all of Africa.
Periodically over the past 7 months I have opened it, admired it and closed it. It was begging me to paint it….
A little mental dissection and I got started. 3 days in and I thought ‘well it’s nice but it’s not big enough?’ So I scrapped that one and went on a mission to find the biggest frame I could possibly fit in my studio and the largest width of canvas I could import…
5 weeks later…
Photo credit : thank you Carly Morgan
It has been a great mental challenge and consumed me for weeks.
An entire 3 days was spent painting spots of which some are hardly noticeable 😉
Wings, dust, sunset, water and one of Africa’s most common and beautiful birds.
I am happy.
