Description
I had no idea when this day would come, but here it is!
Creating something from nothing is the greatest feeling. An idea that begs the question: where do ideas come from anyway?
I suspect they come from a place of listening. You cannot speak and listen simultaneously, and this is true with universal forces too. When you quiet your mind, you might hear what is being said.
I have solely painted birds for the past 12 years and have absolutely loved the creativity i have been able to harness in and around this subject matter. Through painting and my research for each and every piece, I have learnt so much about these little feathered friends that constantly surround us (aware of them or not ;) Anyway, about a month ago I was lying down, taking a 10 minute break breathing in my quiet life drifting off to sleep … and then boom … ‘Monkeys’. It must be monkeys! Clear as day. The vision burst into my mind…
That afternoon a monkey began to come to life, then another. Over the course of the next month the painting slowly evolved. My fig tree has once again come to life and this time featuring something slightly different. I am excited and interested to receive the next idea and suspect my creative journey might be moving in a slightly different direction. I intend to the best of my ability, to listen.
I hope you all enjoy.
