Description
We have a returning pair of these stunning birds come back to our garden every year to nest. We have a curtain of these orange trumpet creepers wrapped around our verandah and as the fly catchers settle into their annual routine and regain our trust, they perch in and amongst the vines, sometimes close enough to touch. We then get to witness them build their nest, protect and nurture their eggs, (sometime through fierce storms) feed their babies and watch them teach their little ones to fly and fend for themselves. ….
A 3-4 week adventure and then they are gone again. But what a delight and privilege to be a part of.
