In April i was sent a photograph from a friend which literally blew me away. Gorgeous gorgeous Guines in a sky that could sum up all of Africa.
Periodically over the past 7 months I have opened it, admired it and closed it. It was begging me to paint it….
A little mental dissection and I got started. 3 days in and I thought ‘well its nice but its not big enough?’ So I scrapped that one and went on a mission to find the biggest frame I could possibly fit in my studio and the largest width of canvas I could import…
5 weeks later …

Its been a great mental challenge and consumed me for weeks. An entire 3 days were spent paintings spots of which some are hardly even noticeable.
Wings, dust, sunset, water and one of Africa’s most common and beautiful birds.

I am happy.
