This is a commissioned painting for a client inspired by a trip to bazzaruto island, Mozambique that I hope brings all the memories right back.
Pink Grandeur
‘Pink Grandeur’ Bazzaruto sand spit, Mozambique. Greater flamingos
Oil on canvas. 180cm x 140cm
Available in print.
We experienced something similar in Namibia on our day trip to pelican point just outside of Walvis Bay. Watching these flocks of flamingos in their thousands is just unforgettable. It is powerful. You really have to see it, smell it and feel it to truly appreciated it. Although currently limited by worldly rules and regulations, Gustave Flaubert said it best, ‘Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.’
